October 2025 Newsletter

Good morning!

I’d like to thank everyone who attended our September 19 fundraiser: it was a robust showing despite the hot weather.

Our next big event is Sunday, October 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Schertz Civic Center: our exhibit, Acting under Duress, Surviving with Resilience. Light refreshments will be served to ground us all as we share the stories of four formerly incarcerated survivors for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

I also ask for your financial support during this DV Awareness Month. The whole nonprofit sphere is experiencing delays and cuts in funding. We hope to raise $20,000 by October 31. We know everyone is probably having a tighter autumn than last year. We are grateful for any amount! Everything helps! Please send a check to the address below, or you can donate online here: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/fbtw.empower

I am having to take some down time to heal while Alison and Cheryl are representing us at a BRIDGE Collective strategy session tomorrow. Cheryl will also be representing us at the midterm BRIDGE Incubator 5 retreat this weekend.

We are still gathering our items for the November 16 silent auction. I promise I will update you on the full list ASAP.

If you have questions and need a quick answer, please contact Cheryl Craig at info.fbtw@gmail.com

Be well,

Cathy &  FBTW
