We’d like to thank all of you who turned out on 4/24 here in Schertz for our Purple Pig Barbecue Fundraiser! We raised $279 because of you! We would like to especially thank the good folks at PP BBQ: owners Cherisse and Demetric Herron make our community better in so many ways!

Please join us on Saturday, 5/30, for our domino tournament fundraiser at Nairobi Bar and Grill in San Antonio, with registration beginning at 3:30 PM for $10 – with plates and other items available. Tournament winners will be awarded with a beautiful commemorative flag . All proceeds to go to FBTW! Please help us share the attached flyer!

I spoke recently to both Geraldine Swaim and Margaret Crayton, two of our released sisters who were recommended for clemency back in the 1990s. They are both also mothers and grandmothers; Geraldine is a great grandmother. Margie is excited because her parole has ended early. Geri needs some healing energy and prayers for health problems, but she took time to lecture me on how, “you need to take care of yourself or you’re no good to anybody.” Please know that your donations have helped make their lives better.

We have raised only $11,000 of the $75,000 we need this year to initiate survivor education and continue our public education programs. Our fiscal year ends June 30. I know that gas prices are skyrocketing and snowballing other price increases. A gift of $250 helps support an assistant half-time for one week. A gift of $100 helps cover printed materials and outreach. Even $50 ensures we have cell service for a month for a phone conference with the released sisters. Every amount helps!
