2023 Holiday Mailing to Our Incarcerated and Released Sisters

We do an annual party at 1st Unitarian Universalist Church of San Antonio where all of the volunteers, our staff, and our board, get to help write a message and then stuff, address, and stamp the newsletters and cards into an envelope to send that love to our survivor sisters. We enjoy good food, drink and music with each other as we work!

Unfortunately the November 3, 2024 party will be the 1st time that we do not send cards, because of the 2023 TDCJ scanning policy. We want our sisters to get them in a timely fashion: last year it took 3 months! We will also have all 3 of our board members and both of our staff members there.

Free Battered Texas Women (FBTW) is a survivor- and women-led education and advocacy group whose mission is to stop arrests of female abuse survivors; to promote clemency; and to support incarcerated/formerly incarcerated survivors, ensuring they live whole, productive lives.
